How Fast Can a Staffing Agency Get You a Job? A Realistic Timeline
You need work. Not in a month. Now. So the big question is: how fast can a staffing agency get you a job?
The honest answer: sometimes the same week, sometimes even faster. It depends on the jobs open that day, your skills and how quickly you finish each step. Here’s what the process looks like at Future Force Personnel, and what you can do to speed it up.
The Steps, One by One
Step 1: Apply online or walk in
You can apply online or stop by one of our offices in Miami Lakes, Orlando or Atlanta. A staffing professional reviews your information to see if there’s a match. Sometimes we’ll ask you to come back for an interview. Sometimes we’ll interview you on the spot.
Step 2: Skills assessments
Depending on the job, you may take one or more short tests before you meet a hiring manager. We use eSkill, which works on any computer or browser with no downloads. Office jobs might test typing or Excel. Other roles test the skills that job needs.
Step 3: One-on-one interview
This is a conversation, not an interrogation. We want to know what you’ve done, what you’re good at, what schedule works for you and where you want to go. Then we talk about openings that fit.
Step 4: Drug screen
Future Force is a drug-free workplace. You’ll need to pass a drug screen before you receive a job offer.
Step 5: Paperwork and orientation
Once you’re hired, you’ll fill out federal and state tax forms and an I-9. Bring documents that show your identity and that you’re authorized to work in the U.S. Then you’ll get an orientation that covers our expectations and the details of your job.
Step 6: Start working
You pick from the opportunities we present. And yes, you can say no to a job that isn’t right for you without it hurting your status with us.
You can read the full process on our Hiring Process page.
What Slows People Down
Most delays aren’t about the agency. They’re about missing pieces. The most common ones:
-
Forgetting ID or work authorization documents.
-
Not having contact info for past employers.
-
Missing a call from the recruiter.
-
Only being open to one very specific job, shift or location.
What to Bring When You Register
Having these ready can save you days:
-
Your résumé.
-
References from past employers.
-
Contact info for past employers so we can confirm dates and performance.
-
Copies of any certifications or licenses, like forklift or CDL.
-
Education documents, like a high school diploma, GED, transcripts or degree.
-
ID and documents that show you’re authorized to work.
Some jobs ask for six months of work experience you can verify, so bring whatever helps us confirm it.
6 Ways to Get Placed Faster
-
Answer your phone. New jobs come in every day, and they fill fast. If you miss the call, the next person on the list gets it.
-
Check in every week. We recommend calling your recruiter at least once a week until you’re placed. It keeps you top of mind.
-
Be flexible where you can. Open to second shift or weekends? Say so. It can double your options.
-
Be honest about your skills. Overselling gets you placed in the wrong job. Being clear gets you placed in the right one.
-
Finish every step quickly. Take the assessment the same day. Schedule the drug screen right away.
-
Search our job board. Jobs change daily. Browse the Future Force job board and tell your recruiter which ones you like.
No Experience? You Can Still Get Hired
“Staffing agency near me no experience” is one of the most common searches we see. Plenty of warehouse, packing and production jobs care more about reliability than years on a résumé. Show up on time, work safely and be someone the supervisor can count on. That’s how many people get their start, and how many temp jobs turn into full-time offers.
