Every office has one; that person who’s always spouting negativity, sees the glass as half empty, shoots down every idea that comes out in meetings, and won’t improve their attitude, even when asked. This is the kind of person that sucks the life and energy from a room, killing morale and motivation in the process. In other words, this person is toxic to workplace – and you need to let them go.

#3. They don’t adhere to office policies.

They’re late to work, show up wearing inappropriate attire, text during meetings, and just flat out break almost every rule there is in the office. Sound familiar? Then it’s time to say good-bye.

#4. They’re completely disengaged.

Employees should be passionate about what they do. When they’re not, it’s going to show in the work and results they deliver (or don’t deliver). So if you have an unhappy employee who’s simply not cutting it – even after several warnings – then it’s time for them to go.

#5. You’ve been thinking about it for a while.

If you’re spending a lot of time thinking about whether or not to fire someone, it means you need to fire them…now. You’re simply spinning your wheels because you likely want to avoid conflict.
