If you can bring what motivates you to life with a story this will make you stand out to the hiring manager. Think about previous projects you’ve worked on and a task or assignment that made you feel excited, passionate or motivated. Talk about this particular situation and why it made you want to work harder to meet goals.
Be honest
While you want to put your best foot forward, it’s also important to be honest. Remember, you want a position that’s a fit for you. So if you just say something that sounds good – even if it’s not true – you could wind up in a job you don’t like. Providing an honest and sincere answer, instead, will help the employer assess whether you’re the right fit for the job and the company. It will also help you secure a position that’s a match for you.
